Tell us about yourself I worked at my first upholstery shop in Kings Beach Ca back in 1998 (Als Upholstery)since then I worked in all kinds of shops all over the place until starting my own in Austin Texas in 2009 (at "the restoration shop" off Burnett). In 2014 my Wife and I started The Tufted Door specializing in building custom furniture from the frame up, commercial, marine, and residential Upholstery. Our buisness moved back to Lake Tahoe for two years to get away from the over head of a big shop in a big city and worked out of our garage doing mostly marine work.To further our craft we moved again to Asheville NC and love the community here now we are wrapping everything we can find in leather together and are enjoying planting our roots here as Trimmers ! We are still building original furniture and Are very blessed to have a small gallery with some exceptional wood worker's (dark sky wood designs) and we also offer trim work through a hot rod shop about a mile from out work shop called Finish Line Motorworks.
